"Daebak Bunsik Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Merakhas Sdn Bhd) was incorporated on 27 December 2010. We ventured into the Food & Beverage industry in April 2019 with the launch of our first restaurant — Coré The Korean Cuisine, located at P-G-10, Tropicana Avenue, Persiaran Tropicana, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, 47410 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Coré offered a refined Korean dining experience, presenting modern Korean cuisine in a chic and elegant ambiance. (Restaurant photos available upon request.)
However, due to the global economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Coré ceased operations in May 2020. This challenging period became a turning point that inspired us to restructure our brand and introduce a refreshed concept of Korean dining.
Rebranding to HanBunSik
In August 2020, we launched our new brand, HanBunSik, at Sunway Pyramid Mall, strategically located at Lot No. F1.AV.197 & 198, First Floor (Asian Avenue), Sunway Pyramid Mall, No. 3 Jalan PJS 11/15, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Selangor. The outlet operates as a mobile kiosk with a total area of 1,006 square feet.
HanBunSik offers a casual, fast-service concept that focuses on:
• A variety of Korean ramyun bowls (rice & noodles)
• Street food favorites
• Traditional stewed soups
Our target demographic is young adults aged 20–30, in alignment with the vibrant, dynamic environment of Sunway Pyramid’s Asian Avenue. The design concept emphasizes bright colors, energetic visuals, and a more youthful, accessible approach to Korean cuisine — offering affordable pricing and quick, convenient service.
Business Growth and Expansion
From 2024 to 2025, our monthly gross sales have grown significantly — from RM150,000 to approximately RM230,000. This strong performance led us to renew our tenancy agreement at Sunway Pyramid Mall for another three years, along with a full renovation and rebranding to enhance our image and customer experience.
